Humming Bear - does it work?

Benefits of having a humming teddy bear

One of the most stressful tasks for parents when caring for a baby is putting them to sleep. Every parent knows that a healthy, long sleep is one of the most important factors in supporting their healthy development, both physical and emotional. Until recently, a hairdryer was the perfect method for putting a baby to sleep. The humming sound soothed the baby and accelerated the onset of deep sleep. Unfortunately, this involved high electricity consumption and the production of excessively warm, drying air. Fortunately, today there are other ways to soothe a baby. A humming teddy bear is one of them. This product offers a number of advantages, including:

  • can soothe a restless baby during teething, colic or other digestive problems,
  • makes it easier to fall asleep,
  • is safe for children,
  • does not emit harmful radiation and acoustic frequencies,
  • some models can be controlled via mobile applications,
  • Some of them are equipped with a soft light source, which makes it easier to get up at night to feed or change the baby.

Before purchasing a humming teddy bear, make sure it's made of the materials it's made of and whether it has all the necessary certifications. A child-safe toy with a humming function should be made of cotton (preferably organic) and free of artificial and toxic dyes.

The Humming Teddy Bear with Night Light and the Humming Bunny are available on our online store and in-store at our Kokosek Baby Store. They can be placed in your child's crib or next to their favorite cuddly toy, close to their head.

How the Humming Bear works

How does white noise soothe a baby? Absolutely. Humming toys emit pink noise, which mimics the sounds a baby hears while still in its mother's womb (e.g., amniotic fluid movement, heartbeat). This is why newborns have a hard time falling asleep in complete silence. Pink noise has a low and varied frequency, helping a baby calm down before bed or during stressful situations, like teething. Studies have shown it to be completely safe for newborns and infants.

Many commercially available humming toys are equipped with a volume modulation module, allowing you to adjust the volume to your baby's needs. It's worth investing in a model that also has a crying detection feature. When the device detects a cry, the humming bear automatically turns on and begins emitting a pleasant hum.
