The birth of a child is the beginning of an extraordinary journey, during which each day brings new discoveries. In the first months of life , a baby's brain develops at an astonishing pace , and their senses become their primary tools for exploring the world. Therefore, choosing their first toy is much more than just buying a pretty object. It's a conscious investment in sensory, motor, and emotional development . Our offer includes only premium products that meet the highest safety standards and are recommended by early childhood development specialists.
Each stage in a child's first six months of life has its own unique needs. Understanding these allows you to choose toys that will not only be enjoyable but, above all, provide intelligent support.
During this period, the infant adapts to life outside the mother's womb. Their development focuses on their basic senses.
Sight: Newborns have blurry vision, and their vision responds best to strong contrasts . Black-and-white toys placed 20-30 cm from the face stimulate the optic nerve and support visual development. It's worth reaching for simple, high-contrast books and soft, cuddly toys with clearly defined eyes and smiles to attract a child's attention.
Hearing and Touch: Babies are soothed by hearing soft, familiar sounds. Subtle rattles and rustling elements teach them to locate the source of a sound. Touch is also crucial – toys made of materials with different textures (smooth organic cotton, ribbed corduroy, soft plush) provide stimuli that stimulate the development of neural connections in the brain.
Grasp reflex: Newborns are born with a strong grasping reflex. Light, easy-to-grasp toys, like small rattles or hoops, allow them to practice this reflex, which will eventually develop into conscious grasping.
As your child becomes more active, their movements become more precise. Toys should encourage interaction and exploration.
Hand-Eye Coordination: Toddlers begin to consciously reach out toward objects. Play mats and hanging arches encourage tummy time (which strengthens neck and back muscles) and practice precise grasping.
The need to chew and explore objects: Mouthing toys is a natural and crucial stage of development – it's how babies learn about shapes, textures, and the hardness of objects. Therefore, it's crucial that teethers are made of safe, certified materials, such as natural rubber from the Hevea tree or food-grade silicone , free of BPA and phthalates.
Fine motor development: Soft activity cubes, toys with tags, mirrors and loops encourage finger manipulation, transferring the toy from hand to hand and discovering cause-and-effect relationships (I shake -> it rattles).
When choosing products for the youngest, there's no room for compromise. That's why the foundation of our collection is the assurance that all toys are CE marked, confirming their compliance with the stringent EU toy safety standard EN-71 . This guarantees that our products are free from harmful chemicals, mechanically safe, and non-flammable. Our commitment to quality goes a step further, as evidenced by our careful selection of raw materials. We only use the highest quality materials, such as GOTS-certified organic cotton , exceptionally gentle on babies' sensitive skin, grown without the use of pesticides. Wooden elements come from sustainably managed forests, as confirmed by the FSC® certificate, and we paint them exclusively with non-toxic, water-based paints. We also take care of what's invisible to the eye, using hypoallergenic fillings that minimize the risk of allergies, giving parents priceless peace of mind.
Konges Sløjd: A Danish brand whose philosophy is based on creating products from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton . Their activity toys, like the Peluche Bunny , are designed with sensory stimulation in mind – they combine a mirror, teether, and textured elements, ideally supporting a child's development while playing on the mat.
Little Dutch: Dutch design and attention to development through play. The brand often uses FSC® certified wood and safe, non-toxic paints. Their Forest Friends Large Sensory Book is an excellent tool for stimulating touch and sight, and the various materials and hidden elements support cognitive development and fine motor skills.
Jellycat: An icon in the world of plush toys, their products undergo the most rigorous safety tests to ensure they are suitable from birth (compliance with EN71 parts 1, 2 & 3 ). The extraordinary softness of their toys, like the iconic The sleepy owl provides the child with a sense of comfort and security, becoming its first friend and support in emotional development.
Maileg: These aren't just toys, but small works of art that stay in families for generations. Made from noble, natural materials like linen and cotton, they delight with their precision. Piccobino Bunny Cuddly Toy It supports the development of imagination and symbolic play, which lays the foundation for future social skills. It's the perfect choice for parents who value timeless design and the highest quality.
