"My First Letters" is an interactive book that supports children in their first steps in learning to read. It introduces young explorers to letters—both printed and written—and their sign language equivalents. The book also introduces them to the world of syllables and sounds, helping children segment words and preparing them for fluent reading.
Reading allows us to realize that we don't always speak exactly as we write. For example, sometimes a word contains the letter "w," but we hear a sound similar to "f." Such discoveries develop linguistic awareness and provide a solid foundation for learning to write.
With the Albik talking pen, children can simultaneously see the correct spelling of a word and hear its pronunciation , as well as its division into sounds and syllables. This unique combination of image and sound supports language development in a natural and engaging way. The phonological phrases were recorded according to the principles of glottodidactics, and the phonemic analysis was performed by speech therapist Iwona Machnik.
The new edition features completely refreshed illustrations, varied quizzes, and an additional sign language alphabet. Some of the poems remain the same, but the recordings have been made with a new team of narrators.
The book contains almost 2,400 audio recordings and texts .
