"Lisek has a new hobby – collecting feathers from bird tails. He even has an album, but it only contains two feathers. So he devises a cunning plan to get more. Together with his best friend, Piglet, with his curly tail, he opens a bird café under a tree frequently visited by birds, where you pay in feathers. Among the dishes are real delicacies: beetle roulade, royal jelly soup, and even ants to collect yourself. It looks like a master plan until a voracious, green-feathered Hungry Man appears on the horizon."

A series about Fox and Piglet with a loose tail

"The Bird's Tail Cafe" is one of thirteen books about Fox and Piglet with a Twisted Tail. The series features unique stories filled with mischievous humor written by Bjørn F. Rørvik with wild and expressive illustrations by Per Dybvig. In 2005, the series received the Literary Award from the Norwegian Ministry of Culture.

The series consists of:

Bjørn F. Rørvik – one of Norway’s most acclaimed and most widely read children’s literature authors, awarded many times for his stories tinged with wacky humor and full of exceptionally original ideas, wonderful to read aloud and silently by readers of all ages.

Per Dybvig – a painter, graphic artist, animator, and one of Norway's most highly regarded illustrators of children's literature. An award-winning and widely exhibited artist, his illustrations are full of humor and a rare, almost childlike power of expression.

Iwona Zimnicka has been translating Danish and Norwegian literature for years. She has translated a significant number of titles, from Jo Nesbo's crime novel series to Karl Ove Knausgård's acclaimed "My Struggle." In 1996, she won the Janusz Korczak Award from the Polish section of IBBY for her translation of Jostein Gaarder's "The Joker's Prophecy" and received the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit from King Harald V.
