Maybe you and your baby will sleep longer if you lie in the same bed?

How big does a baby have to be to be too old to breastfeed?

What is the father's role in caring for a newborn?

How early a bond can help a child become independent?

Does a newborn force itself to be carried by crying?

Do we have to focus on the baby all the time?

William and Martha Sears – doctor and nurse, husband and wife, the team who coined the term “Attachment Parenting” – answer these and many other questions in a practical and inspiring guide.

William Sears practiced at Harvard Children's Hospital and the Pediatric Clinic in Boston. Martha Sears is a registered nurse, has taught childbirth classes, and is also a lactation consultant. They have eight children, two of whom also became pediatricians. Together, they run the Sears Pediatric Clinic in California. Together with their children, they have authored more than a dozen books on childcare and nursing.

The "Attachment Parenting Book" is a compendium of knowledge for young parents and tips on caring for and nurturing a young child. The authors base their advice on their own experiences – they are parents of eight adult children, with whom they run a medical practice and jointly publish guides for young parents. Attachment Parenting is a parenting style that addresses a young child's need for safety.
