Can cows swing on a swing? Probably not all of them, but nothing is impossible for Mommy Mu, especially since she can ask her friend, Mr. Crow, for help. He, of course, taps his forehead – who's ever seen a cow on a swing!? And he's supposed to help her with that!?
Mama Moo, however, knows how to persuade her friend Mr. Crow to cooperate, and Mr. Crow finally ties the swing to the branch.
But once Mama Mu is comfortably settled on the swing, it turns out that swinging isn't so easy after all... Because what is there to swing, and in which direction? Mr. Crow won't put his wing on it, after all; he's already embarrassed himself enough by hanging the cow's swing.
The richly detailed and brilliant illustrations by Sven Nordqvist, known to Polish children from his books about Pettson and Findus, are full of surprises for the observant and wonderfully capture the personalities of both heroes.
—You're a cow, Mama Moo. A strange one, yes, but a cow nonetheless. Cows. Swing. No.
"Exactly," replied Mama Moo. "So I guess we should feel sorry for the cows because they don't even have a chance to swing."
"Shame on you!" cried Mr. Crow. "Cow! The cows just walk around and graze! They lie there, chew, and stare straight ahead. And they're being milked. And that's enough for them."
“Would that be enough for you?” asked Mama Mu.
"Not me!" cried Mr. Crow. "I am a crow after all."
“It’s not enough for me either,” said Mama Mu.
