Niuniuś and the heart of a preschooler
Preschool is great, but leaving your parents can be really hard. Luckily, Mom knows a magic trick that soothes Baby's heart every time. What's the trick? A book with a supportive story and a script for model adaptation that will empower children, parents, and teachers.
Niuniuś is already a preschooler! And although he loves his preschool and Mrs. Madzia, parting with his parents isn't always easy for him.
Luckily, Mom knows a magic trick that always soothes Little One's heart. Today, Little One came to preschool, but… he doesn't want to play or make grass soup; he just cries quietly. What's wrong with Little One? And who will help him?
Do you know what preschool adaptation is really about?
It is commonly believed that Preschool adaptation involves getting used to a new place, the preschool routine, and the group of children. And we, along with Aga Nuckowski, say: button right!
"If that were the case, children would adapt within two days. I imagine that few children would cry either. Young children love and are very curious about new toys, playgrounds, and other children. Play is their passion, so a preschool setting where they can play freely all day, where someone comes up with fun games for them, where they have a group of playmates, should be ideal for them. So why isn't it? Why is there so much difficult emotion and crying during preschool adaptation?"
Because children going to kindergarten adapt, that is, they agree/adjust/accept to a much more important and larger situation. Namely to separation from a parent. Regular, several-hour separations from someone they feel connected to. And this is a huge challenge for young children – hence the crying, fear, resistance, reluctance, frustration, and aggression."
