The Polish edition of "First Aid for Minor Accidents" is being published 35 years after its Japanese premiere. The translation was prepared by Anna Karpiuk based on a new, revised text from 2017, which incorporates the latest knowledge on treating cuts and abrasions. The authors introduce young readers to, among other things, the principles of treating wounds in a moist environment without the use of gauze or disinfectants.
"First Aid for Minor Accidents" is the eighth installment in the My Body series. This time, Gen-ichiro and Makoto Yamada explain how to treat minor wounds: cuts, scrapes, stings, burns, and pinched fingers. There's also plenty of trivia about hiccups, lumps, and numb limbs.
As in each volume, Gen-ichiro Yagyu's simple and expressive drawings emphasize the naturalness, unpretentiousness and humor of the series.
